Job description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time onsite Test & Commissioning Leader (Railway Signaling Systems) in Dallas, TX, US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering and railway signaling expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dynamic and collaborative teammates.
You'll lead test and commissioning activities for railway signaling systems, ensuring the seamless execution of processes aligned with Alstom’s standards, regulations, and local laws. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Design, Installation, and Project Management), conduct deep troubleshooting to identify and resolve system failures, and ensure safety and compliance at every step—and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Managing and executing Test & Commissioning (T&C) activities related to railway signaling subsystems up to successful completion and handover to customers or warranty teams,

  • Leading test activities over railway signaling systems and ensuring the Test & Commissioning process is executed based on approved procedures,

  • Ensuring all required installation documentation provided by designers and instruction changes (including field modifications – FMI) are adequately recorded, reported, and approved,

  • Conducting deep troubleshooting of wayside/railway systems and equipment to identify root causes of failures and integration issues, and defining containment and sustainable solutions with support from the Test team and Engineering,

  • Sharing findings with Installation, Test & Commissioning (ITC), and project management teams,

  • Conducting work planning, pre-work safety briefs, post-work debriefs, and escalating matters as required to meet project Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets,

  • Being available to work in the field, including night shifts, and for short or long missions in different locations and countries.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems) or a Technician Degree with equivalent experience,

  • Experience or understanding of Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), or Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for railway signaling projects,

  • Knowledge of railway signaling subsystems and installation processes,

  • Familiarity with interfacing between Design, Installation, and other stakeholders,

  • Willingness to work in the field and on night shifts (incl. weekends),

  • Flexibility and availability for short or long missions in different locations and countries,

  • A valid driver’s license.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Work with cutting-edge railway signaling systems and innovative technologies,

  • Progress towards becoming a recognized leader in Test & Commissioning activities within the rail industry,

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning,

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
