Product Development Engineer

Marlborough, MA


Seeking a hands-on engineer to drive product and application development in electroplating chemistry and alloy applications. This role involves process optimization, experimental design, and technical documentation, supporting both internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimization of electroplating chemistry products and processes, including establishing control ranges and maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct chemistry operations, analysis, and maintenance to ensure process reliability and quality.
  • Scale up processes and troubleshoot technical issues to support manufacturing and application needs.
  • Develop and optimize alloy applications, including test method development and meeting customer specifications.
  • Design, execute, and document experimental plans for process and product development.
  • Operate and maintain process equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
  • Perform materials inspection and failure analysis to support quality and reliability objectives.
  • Transfer process knowledge and documentation to both internal teams and external customers, ensuring clear communication and understanding.


Qualifications:

  • Experience with wet chemistry handling and adherence to safe working practices.
  • Proven ability to execute and analyze detailed experiments in a laboratory or production environment.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills for technical reporting and knowledge transfer.
  • Background in inorganic materials testing and analysis, such as SEM/EDS, XRF, hardness/durability, cross sectioning, or environmental testing.
  • Demonstrated capability to multi-task and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant education in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting is highly valued.
