Position Overview
We are seeking Junior and Senior Manufacturing Process Engineers to join our team in St. Paul, MN. This is a hands-on, on-site role responsible for improving manufacturing processes, increasing productivity, and ensuring consistent product quality. The Process Engineer will work closely with production teams, supervisors, and fellow engineers to optimize operations, standardize best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate enjoys working on the production floor, solving technical problems, developing employees, and implementing process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support an assigned production area consisting of multiple manufacturing lines.
- Improve manufacturing processes to increase safety, quality, productivity, and throughput.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven problem-solving techniques.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work directly with operators and production leads to implement sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support plant-wide improvement projects.
- Analyze process performance and recommend improvements to equipment, workflows, and manufacturing methods.
- Support employee cross-training and assist in the development of production personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement by removing operational barriers and supporting production goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, process improvement, quality, laboratory, production, or maintenance environments.
- Electroplating or metal finishing experience is a strong plus but not required.
- Experience developing work instructions, SOPs, or training documentation is preferred.
- Experience supporting or leading Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects from concept through implementation.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred but not required.
- Candidates with relevant manufacturing, production, maintenance, laboratory, or quality experience and strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
