Position Description
Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position Purpose: TheMulti-Craft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining advanced production and facility equipment. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing processes including logical thought processes, working effectively as a team, recognizing potential problems and providing means for avoiding the problems, and proven talents in written/verbal communications.
Principle Accountabilities
  • Drive a zero Safety and Environmental Health incident culture by following all safety rules, participating in incident investigations to determine root causes and identify preventive measures, acting immediately to correct unsafe conditions, and participating in monthly safety initiatives.
  • Successfully execute preventative and predictive maintenance activities including inspecting, testing, and operating to reduce downtime and machine reliability. Maintains proper maintenance records, logs, reports, and systems as required.
  • Ability to enter, manage, and complete work orders into the Advanced Maintenance Management System (AMMS), request, retrieve, and maintain stockroom spare parts, assist with min/max determinations, and return all unused parts properly in the system and back to physical stockroom. Conduct scheduled Preventative Maintenance on all equipment while looking for ways to improve PM programs through determining appropriate frequencies, updating job completion time estimates, and improving work procedures/checklists.
  • Partner and utilize Process Engineers, Maintenance Team, and Machine Operators to solve problems with root cause analysis and create preventative measures to ensure no reoccurrence. Support capital, equipment, and process changes and participate in continuous improvement work groups and support trials.
  • Efficiently perform maintenance related duties such as diagnose causes of malfunctions and correct them through programmable logic controllers, perform instrumentation calibrations, repair troubleshoot, improve and maintain all equipment, perform rebuilds, minor welding, burning, brazing, fabrication, sheet metal, pipe fitting, lubrication, painting, electrical testing, measuring, conduit installation, soldering, and calibration.
  • Related tasks as requested by supervisor

Essential Skills and Experience
  • High School diploma / G.E.D and 5 years of manufacturing multi-craft maintenance experience OR 5 years military experience in a technical field OR Associate's Degree in a technical field with two years of manufacturing experience.
  • CMRT certification is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experience in computerized maintenance management program required.
  • Ability to work any shift (weekends, holidays, and overtime).
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job such as lifting and moving up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting or kneeling or climbing stairs or ladders. Ability and willingness to operate forklift is also required.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.
  • Machinist skills preferred
