Project Manager - Waste Connections

Location: Vancouver, WA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional weekend work required when needed.

Salary: $105,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience.

Annual Bonus: 15% cash and 15% equity

Position Overview

Waste Connections is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Manager to support expansion and capital improvement projects across our operations. This role is ideal for a professional with several years of experience who is ready to take on greater ownership in managing projects from concept through completion while working closely with cross-functional teams, leadership, and external partners.

In this position, you will play a key role in coordinating and executing the full project lifecycle, supporting engineering, construction, and Master Service Agreement (MSA) initiatives while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and help manage projects from initial planning through construction completion
  • Develop and document CIP agreements, pre-approvals, capital requests, and coordinate with internal legal teams
  • Partner with cities, counties, architects, engineers, and local site leadership to define project scope, budgets, and timelines
  • Work with contractors to facilitate the public process, including easements, conditional use permits, and land use approvals
  • Track and monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and MSA requirements
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and subcontractors, including material procurement and delivery logistics
  • Serve as a liaison between municipal agencies and project teams to resolve issues, manage changes, and keep projects moving forward
  • Assist in preparing and delivering project updates, reporting, and performance insights to leadership
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, schedules, and communication records

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management, engineering, construction, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project management tools is a plus
