About Divert
Divert is a circular economy company on a mission to prevent food from being wasted through nationwide infrastructure and innovative technologies. Founded in 2007, the company provides an end-to-end solution that leverages data to prevent waste, facilitates edible food recovery to provide to people in need, and transforms unsold food products into renewable energy to power communities. Through this integrated approach to reducing wasted food - Prevent, Provide, Power - Divert works with customers across the U.S. to reduce wasted food and positively impact people and the environment.
Divert's Integrated Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant receives unsold food from clients, analyzes the content, separates the packaging from the organics that can then be digested, ultimately processing the mixed liquor through our anaerobic digestion tank. The end result is
RNG sold to the local natural gas pipeline and a reduction in waste going to a landfill.. This role will be responsible for ensuring the equipment and systems are running optimally, including but not limited to front end (bin washer, de-packaging/separating processes, wasted food processing) and back end (wastewater treatment, biogas purification, filtration) processes.
What You'll Do
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, Divert's Maintenance Technicians play a pivotal role as they drive operational efficiencies while championing our safety and culture initiatives. Our Maintenance Technicians work in our Integrated Food Processing and Renewable Natural Gas facilities, utilizing cutting edge technology to solve the food waste crisis.
Shift Available: day shift, M-F, 6 am start time (occasional weekend-day as needed)
Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and policies including but not limited to PPEs, gas monitoring devices, LOTO, Fall Prevention, Confined Space, Hot Work, and more.
  • Conduct daily plant walkthroughs for safety, equipment inspections, and review of the HMI/controls for operational parameters.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on numerous types of equipment including but not limited to belt and screw conveyors, presses, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, valves, pressurized vessels, filtering and scrubbing vessels.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in machinery, electrical systems, and control systems. Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues in hardware and software.
  • Coordinate and communicate downtime of equipment for planned maintenance operations with the Site leadership team
  • Utilize tools and equipment: Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform maintenance tasks, including mechanical, welding, plumbing, and electrical work as needed.
  • Document all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Assist in inventory management for spare parts and equipment for the site.
  • Understands and drives maintenance activities to optimize key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate and supervise 3rd party contractors as needed to execute maintenance operations.
  • Leads or supports special projects and plant improvements.
  • Operates powered industrial vehicles (PIV's) to include but not limited to forklifts, scissor lifts, front-end loaders, and aerial platform lifts.
  • Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other technicians to address complex issues and ensure system uptime.
  • Other duties as assigned include supplementing process manpower at the appropriate level of training per the skills matrix.

What We're Looking For
  • HS Diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 2-3 years minimum Industrial Maintenance, Fabrication, Landfill RNG, or Reciprocating Compressor experience.
  • 2-year technical degree, associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a relatedevant field, or military background is a plus.
  • 1-3 years in a Leadership role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and edit P&IDs and schematic diagrams.
  • Understanding sensors, actuators, and motion control systems.
