Description

SAIC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the US Navy in Indianapolis, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The electrical engineer will complete tasking related to the design, manufacture and sustainment of US Navy Aircraft Equipment, related systems, and other military systems in support of its Indianapolis facility. The ideal engineering candidate is expected to have a strong background in the use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques for designing circuits, analyzing electronic systems, and troubleshooting electronic and electrical constructs. The engineering candidate is also expected to be able to work independently, will mentor and give guidance to lower level electrical engineers, and will be able to review their work and help them improve their skills.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Tasking will include but will not be limited to design, development, modification, evaluation and test of a variety of electronic equipment and electrical systems.
  • May work with power systems, radar and RF systems, circuitry components, analog and digital circuits and processors, control systems, acoustic systems, electro-optic systems, weapon system launch and control circuitry, and test equipment design and development.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years related experience.
  • Experience generating electrical requirements and translating them into circuit design to achieve desired output.
  • Advanced ability to fault isolate an electronic system in a field or lab environment to identify faulty component or design deficiency.
  • Experience writing and interpreting technical reports and requirements and interface documents.
  • Experience preparing presentation material and presenting to peers, project team members, and managers.
  • Computer skills:
    • Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with Electronic CAD tools such as Altium and PADS.
  • Must be U.S. citizen.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience utilizing and programming National Instruments (NI) PXI using LabVIEW and Test Stand software.
  • Experience leading small teams of engineers and/or other related project personnel.
  • Experience with power supply design or RF system design.
  • Experience with aircraft armament equipment electronics, or other military electronic systems.
  • Experience working in a small team collaborative environment.
  • Already possess military security clearance at the Secret or above level.
