Job description

Position Title: Electrical Drafter/Designer

Duration: 09 Months with possibility of extension

Location: Mequon, WI 53092

Shift hours: 1st shift hours

Job Description:

Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.

Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards. Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation. May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.

Frequently interacts with peers and customers (typically internal) to exchange or present factual information.

Works on assignments that are semi routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

Creates and modifies detailed drawings and parts using electrical CAD software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.

Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Checks drawings versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.

Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation. May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.

Duties:

Works with engineering team to understand productivity or quality improvements needed in product and update Xpedition electrical CAD files

Pulls new part numbers or updates existing part numbers and BOMs in Windchill as needed

Prepares updated parts and documents for release into production, making sure that system processes completed and stakeholders have reviewed and approved of change

Release and monitor change through Windchill, SAP and manufacturing systems

Provide feedback to engineering team on questions, roadblocks or findings

Qualifications

Experience using Windchill for part and document creation and release

Experience using SAP for part and document management

Experience using an electrical CAD system such as Xpedition, Altium, Cadence or Zuken.

Understanding of engineering change process and manufacturing implementation 

Basic understanding of reading electrical schematics

Good written communication skills for reports and documentation

Technical school work preferred

At least 1 year of relevant work experience. 

Typically requires a minimum of 1 years of related experience. Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
