Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking physician editors to help us build the best learning platform in medical education. This position will be focused on reviewing and revising USMLE-style Step 1 and Step 2 practice questions and/or related topic summaries. This is a fully remote, contract-based position.

What You'll Do

We are looking for passionate physicians and medical educators to produce accurate world-class content to aid medical students in their education and prepare for their USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams.

  • Review and revise existing and newly drafted questions, and/or existing and newly drafted topic summaries, to conform to specific product guidelines, including adhering to standards for educational value, readability, and use of inclusive language.
  • Ensure assessment items and/or topic summaries are accurate, clinically realistic, and scoped appropriately to prepare for the Step 1 and Step 2 exams.
  • Work with the medical illustration team to create or collect images and figures that highlight important medical concepts or disease processes.
  • Attend team meetings as needed and regular check-ins with the writing team.
  • Identify and complete other tasks as needed.

What You Bring

  • Terminal medical degree, either MD or DO. (Required).
  • Successful completion of USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams (Required).
  • Board certification in a US-approved medical or surgical specialty or completion of at least two years of ACGME-accredited residency training. (Required).
  • Prior medical question writing experience is a plus.
  • Experience in formal medical education is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled workflows is a plus.
  • Available to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week of asynchronous work.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and copy-editing skills with close attention to detail.
  • Commitment to the organizational mission of transforming medical education to better serve educators and learners.
