Job description

Job Title: Drone Logistics Specialist

Job Description

This role supports cutting-edge drone delivery operations by performing hands-on ground handling and flight support activities. You will help prepare and operate aircraft and related equipment, assist the flight crew with mission planning and execution, and ensure safe, efficient delivery operations in a dynamic logistics and aviation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the flight crew with mission planning, crew briefings, and field operations as part of the flight support team.
  • Prepare for daily operations by organizing equipment, materials, and aircraft needed for scheduled flights.
  • Work directly with aircraft and flight operations equipment to support safe and efficient drone delivery missions.
  • Participate in operations that physically move and deliver packages using drone systems.
  • Install and replace aircraft batteries and move aircraft to and from the flight line and preparation areas.
  • Work closely with the operator in command to complete pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checklists safely and accurately.
  • Support material handling, inventory control, and logistics activities related to drone operations and warehouse functions.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational processes.
  • Perform accurate data entry related to flight operations, logistics, and inventory tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in logistics, aviation, and supply chain to support overall drone delivery operations.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time as needed to support flights and missions at other locations.
  • Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when operational needs require.

Essential Skills

  • Current FAA Part 107 drone pilot license.
  • Eligibility for FAA safety-sensitive hire requirements.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for working with drones, aircraft, and related equipment.
  • Experience or familiarity with drone operations and flightline activities.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry to support logistics and flight operations.
  • Knowledge or experience in material handling, inventory control, and logistics processes.
  • Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on mission needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time for operational support.
  • Comfort working in aviation or airport operations environments with a focus on safety and compliance.

Work Environment

Typical work is scheduled during normal daytime hours; however, you must remain flexible to support occasional night or weekend missions as needed. The position may require travel up to 25% of the time to support operations at other sites. You will work in a safety-focused environment that follows aviation standards and procedures, using specialized drone, flightline, and material-handling equipment to support daily operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
