Job description

Job Purpose

The local CDL Class A driver will safely and efficiently deliver products, materials, and finished goods between CandyCo yards and dock doors between Lindon, American Fork, and Springville, Utah. This position may also support warehouse operations by ensuring trailers are properly staged, docked, and positioned to maintain safe and efficient workflow.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company hostler trucks, yard tractors, and assigned equipment
  • Follow all FMCSA/DOT rules and regulations.
  • May spot, stage, dock, and move trailers within yard areas and dock doors
  • Transfer goods and materials between plant locations
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by ensuring trailers are available as needed
  • Verify trailer numbers, seal condition, and trailer door status prior to movement
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment, trailers and vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of transfers and any incidents or accidents
  • Communicate effectively with Fleet Supervisor, Warehouse, and team members
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety and transportation regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Class A CDL License with minimum of 3 year of verifiable Class A experience
  • At least previous 12 months of satisfactory driving history -Required
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain DOT medical card - Required
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance regulations
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and detail oriented, with the ability to work independently, good communication, and organization skills
  • The role requires the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
  • Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, positive personal demeanor, excellent listener, and the ability to exercise good judgement

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work any/all shifts as assigned or required
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including Holidays and/or weekends as required


Physical Requirements

  • Preshift stretch and exercises to be performed
  • Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves where warranted
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving
  • Lifting at times of up to 50 lbs. without assistance and standing for most of a shift
