Job description

Do people in your life describe you as a "dog person"? Perhaps you already volunteer with a shelter or a rescue? We're searching for compassionate and experienced dog walkers who want to grow into leadership roles within the company. They are knowledgeable about dog behavior and body language and want to work in a collaborative, supportive and friendly environment. Our dog walkers typically work Monday- Friday, from as early as 10am to as late as 3pm, once fully trained.


Pets Are Family Pet Sitting Services LLC is growing quickly thanks to our 5-star reviews from happy clients and our positive environment, awesome clients, great pay and ongoing training. If you are passionate about working with dogs and have a heart for serving in your community, this may be a great fit for you! Our team works closely with our clients to provide loving care and exercise for their dogs. Previous experience is highly valued but not required as new employees are provided with initial and ongoing paid training.

Additional Information:

Midday dog walking occurs mainly between 11am-2pm, Monday- Friday- candidates must be available at least Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (please do not apply if you do NOT have this availability!)


Employees may also become certified pet sitters in addition to their daily dog walking schedule (if interested and have the proper availability).


Requirements for the dog walker position:

- You love working with a variety of breeds of dogs and are passionate about their welfare! You are comfortable walking and exercising dogs in various environments, ensuring their safety and well-being.

- You can provide attentive care, according to their individual needs. You are able to monitor the behavior and health of the dogs and report any concerns to the company.

- You are at ease working with dog breeds that weigh between 50-150 lbs. You'll walk smaller dogs too but the majority of our pups are at least 50 lbs.

- You have strong communication skills (both orally and in writing) and you have the ability to provide exceptional customer service to our dogs' guardians by promptly addressing any questions or concerns.

- You can document daily activities and report any unusual behavior or incidents to both the company and the dogs' guardians.

- You have a reliable car and live in or very close (within 5 miles) to the community where you will work.

- You have a reliable smartphone that can support our company's software and takes clear photos.

- You can commit to working with us at least 6 months. We value building and maintaining relationships with our clients!

- You can pass a criminal /vehicle background check.

- You are at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate.


Hours/Pay: Fully trained and certified Dog Walkers are paid hourly between $18-$24 + tips + holiday bonus pay. Employees receive ongoing, paid professional development and training. A typical week is ranges between 15-20 hours total.
