We are seeking a high-caliber Electrical Engineer II-III to join our Charlotte-based team and lead the design of mission-critical systems. In this role, you aren't just drafting plans; you are a technical guardian, architecting complex power, communications, and security systems for the Department of Defense and high-stakes federal environments. This is a mission-driven opportunity for a technical expert who thrives on the challenge of "zero-failure" infrastructure and sophisticated facility upgrades.
Joining our team means becoming part of a multidisciplinary powerhouse known for technical excellence and reliability. We provide a stable, high-impact project pipeline that allows you to transition from mid-level design into senior leadership and project ownership. Here, your professional growth is backed by a collaborative culture that prizes mentorship and rewards the technical precision required for our country's most secure installations.
Core Responsibilities
  • System Architecture: Design and integrate sophisticated electrical power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems for complex new constructions and facility retrofits.
  • Mission-Critical Communications: Engineer secure communications infrastructure tailored to the rigorous operational requirements of military and federal installations.
  • Technical Stewardship: Prepare high-fidelity construction documents, including detailed drawings, technical specifications, complex calculations, and accurate cost estimations.
  • Quality Authority: Execute rigorous Quality Control (QC) reviews, providing technical guidance and design corrections to ensure every deliverable exceeds industry and federal benchmarks.
  • Code Mastery: Ensure absolute compliance with NEC, NFPA, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards, navigating the unique regulatory landscape of DoD projects.
  • Multidisciplinary Integration: Synchronize with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to deliver seamless, constructible designs for high-performance building environments.
  • Construction Intelligence: Oversee the transition from paper to pavement by supporting bid evaluations, responding to RFIs, and conducting onsite documentation to resolve field coordination challenges.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical system design and construction support within a consulting or AEC environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced command of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with discipline-specific electrical modeling software.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA standards.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear reports and project documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (or the ability to obtain licensure via comity).
  • Sector Expertise: Direct experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal facility projects.
  • Specialized Standards: Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and mission-critical military environments.
  • Sustainability: LEED-AP certification or experience with sustainable design in federal applications.
