Job description

Overview:

Signalink is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer who will work with a diverse team comprised of engineering, logistics and aircraft professionals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Apply well-developed analytical skills, electrical expertise, and structured methodologies throughout the lifecycle of avionics and aircraft electrical system development.
  • Perform independent analysis of electrical and avionics systems, including physical layout, performance characteristics, component compatibility, grounding/bonding requirements, and operational behavior to ensure systems satisfy program requirements and airworthiness objectives.
  • Evaluate aircraft electrical loads, power distribution architecture, circuit protection, and wiring harness design for compliance with Army and DoD standards.
  • Conduct assessments of system integration, ensuring electrical and electronic components interface correctly with the aviation platform, identifying risks related to wiring, connectors, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and system redundancy.
  • Review analysis, troubleshooting findings, and test results from other team members; reconcile discrepancies, validate conclusions, and organize results for accurate technical reporting.
  • Provide guidance on interpreting technical data packages, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics as part of system troubleshooting or modification planning.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (master's degree preferred)
  • 8-15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably supporting DoD, military aviation, or complex aerospace systems
  • Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems, wiring standards, avionics interfaces, and MIL-STD electrical requirements
  • Proficiency with electrical modeling, CAD tools, and engineering analysis software
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with Army or DoD aviation technical manuals, wiring data modules, and maintenance documentation
  • Experience developing or reviewing electrical load analyses (ELA), power quality assessments, wiring harness routing, and EMI/EMC considerations
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, electrical schematics, and complex technical data packages
  • Experience supporting airworthiness processes, safety assessments, or qualification testing for aviation systems
