Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Requirements
  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business solutions and business requirements
  • Analyzes, identifies, and writes detailed descriptions of user requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications or components
  • Makes recommendations for business process improvements with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to technology needs
  • Acts as a liaison between business and IT; develops and maintains knowledge of the customer's business
  • Interviews end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, training, data quality, and performance
  • Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies

Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Develops test plans and executes tests
  • Creates and maintains regression test suites, including UI and API-level test cases
  • Participates in Agile ceremonies: daily scrums, sprint reviews, nightly releases, and weekend testing as needed

Production Support
  • Prepares analysis for production support of applications and associated documentation
  • Creates ad hoc reports and executes data queries to support business and operational needs
  • Identifies root cause of production issues and documents findings and recommendations

Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Creates and maintains application documentation, training materials, and process guides
  • Actively shares knowledge with team members and business partners to reduce knowledge silos
  • Manages and documents change requests through the full release cycle (CERT and PROD)

AI & Automation
  • Identifies and implements AI-assisted workflow improvements to increase productivity and quality in daily BA work
  • Leverages AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot) to accelerate requirements documentation, test case creation, query writing, and production issue analysis
  • Stays informed on emerging AI capabilities relevant to business analysis and proactively shares use cases with the team
  • Approaches work with a continuous improvement mindset, seeking ways to use AI and automation to do better every day

Business & Customer Engagement
  • Demonstrates a strong partnership mindset with the business - understands their goals, challenges, and needs
  • Communicates clearly and transparently in business-relevant terms
  • Provides thoughtful options to address business needs and challenges; operates as more than an order taker
  • Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs

Requirements:
  • Requirements gathering and documentation experience
  • Test case creation and execution experience
  • SQL writing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strongly Preferred:
  • Experience with Agile methodology (daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives)
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
  • Experience with project and work management tools (e.g., Rally, Jira, ServiceNow)

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with AI productivity tools (GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or similar)
  • Familiarity with insurance industry systems or P&C (Property & Casualty) business domain
  • Experience creating or maintaining automated test suites
