Position Summary


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support a major data center construction project in the Waco, TX area. This position will be responsible for managing engineering, construction, quality, safety, and project documentation throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate document control processes, maintain revision integrity, and support project teams by providing timely access to critical project records.

This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage large volumes of documentation, and experience working in fast-paced construction environments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the receipt, review, distribution, tracking, filing, and storage of project documentation, ensuring compliance with project procedures and document control standards.
  • Maintain document control systems and databases for engineering drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, procedures, reports, permits, and project records.
  • Track document revisions and ensure project teams are working from the most current approved versions.
  • Coordinate the distribution of construction drawings, engineering packages, and project updates to contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Process incoming and outgoing transmittals while maintaining accurate document logs and records.
  • Support project teams with document retrieval requests and assist in maintaining complete and organized project files.
  • Monitor document workflows and follow up on overdue reviews, approvals, and submissions.
  • Assist with turnover and closeout documentation, ensuring all required records are complete and ready for client handover.
  • Maintain quality control of project documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, quality, safety, and project management teams to support project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide document status updates as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of project information and records.


Required Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of Document Control experience, preferably supporting construction, engineering, industrial, infrastructure, or data center projects.
  • Experience working with document management systems and electronic filing platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary project team.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience supporting large-scale construction or data center projects.
  • Experience with project management and document control platforms such as Procore, Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, SharePoint, or similar systems.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation processes.
  • Experience supporting project turnover and closeout activities.
