Job description

Waldorf University is seeking interested and qualified candidates to join and add to the IT Department in Forest City IA, as a full-time IT Technical Support Representative. This position will support and maintain in-house and remote computer equipment and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation and network performance. Must be able to troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required. The IT Technical Support Representative must be able to move throughout campus to deliver hands-on support, respond promptly to service needs, and ensure reliable technology operations across multiple buildings. Primary work hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday with occasional evenings/weekends and extended hours when requested. Maintenance activities that affect service availability routinely require work outside of regular business hours. Excellent customer service and telephone support skills required.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, customer service in the capacity of a help desk assistance
  • Prepare computers for residential campus use
  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
  • Provide computer Move/Add/Change support in response to approved requests
  • Support University programs and policies
  • Apply hardware and software updates and upgrades as required
  • Repair University hardware and equipment as needed
  • Instruct users in the use of equipment and software
  • Troubleshoot application and system issues to resolution with minimal disruption to University operations
  • Maintain software, applications and equipment for low and mid-tier levels to ensure maximum uptime and reliability
  • Software and hardware familiarity should include both PC and MAC
  • Answer client's inquiries in person, through email and via telephone concerning systems operations
  • Diagnose system hardware, software and end user problems. Recommend or perform remedial actions to correct problems on knowledge of system operation
  • AV setup and support
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications
  • Completion of two years of college or equivalent with major in computer related courses; or equivalent combination of educational and experience working with personal computers
  • Experience working in an IT Help Desk capacity
  • Microsoft Certification Desktop Support Technician certification strongly desired
  • Experience working with telecom equipment is a plus
  • Interest and experience with AV equipment and set up
