Job description

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team:

Join a business-critical technology support team within a global financial services environment, supporting internally developed applications used across middle- and back-office derivative trade workflows. This team helps keep live operations stable by supporting applications tied to trade processing, payments, mark-to-market activity, verification workflows, and time-sensitive data movement. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and requires professionals who can investigate complex issues, communicate clearly with business users, and help maintain continuity across financial operations.

What's In Store For You:

Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)

This is a long-term hybrid contract opportunity based in Jersey City, NJ. The role offers exposure to live capital markets technology, rates derivatives workflows, production support, application reliability, and business-facing incident management. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous production issues, improving support processes, and working close to business operations in a highly visible financial technology environment.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Support internally developed business applications used across rates derivatives, trade processing, post-trade workflows, payments, verification, and related middle/back-office functions.
  • Investigate live production issues reported by users or detected through system behavior, logs, data movement, and application monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot across applications, schedulers, STP processes, databases, data flows, integrations, and user workflows to identify root cause and restore service.
  • Communicate clearly with business users, senior stakeholders, technology teams, and support peers during incidents.
  • Document issues, workarounds, root cause findings, and resolution steps in a way that supports future troubleshooting and audit expectations.
  • Help improve system stability by identifying recurring issues, strengthening runbooks, improving monitoring, and reducing operational toil.
  • Participate in 24x6 support coverage, including rotating weekend on-call or planned activity support.

Are you a proven production support professional with capital markets application experience?

  • 3–5 years of relevant and recent production support, application support, or trade application support experience.
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in financial services, capital markets, derivatives, trading, middle office, or back-office environments.
  • Working understanding of trade workflows, STP, data flows, rates derivatives, asset classes, regulatory reporting, or financial operations is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to investigate ambiguous production issues using logs, application behavior, user inputs, database/data checks, documentation, and cross-system reasoning.
  • Strong SQL or back-end query experience, with scripting exposure in Python, Perl, PowerShell, or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting batch jobs, schedulers, APIs, integrations, reports, data pipelines, or time-sensitive operational workflows.
  • Strong incident management skills with the ability to prioritize under SLA pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly, diplomatically, and concisely to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Methodical, curious, ownership-driven mindset with a focus on resolution, documentation, stability, and continuous improvement.
