Job description

RN II – NICU – Contract

Facility: Adventist Health Sierra Vista
Unit: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
Address: 1010 Murray Ave, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (Auto Offer, Epic Backfill)
Hours: 36–40 Hours/Week (typical)
Pay Rate: $58 – $60/hr
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,320 – $2,400/week (40 hrs)


Job Summary

RN II – NICU provides specialized nursing care for critically ill and stable newborns in a Level III NICU setting. Responsible for neonatal assessment, medication administration, ventilator support, care planning, family education, and coordination of multidisciplinary care for neonates ranging from micro-preemies to full-term infants.


Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years NICU experience (Required)

  • Experience with neonatal resuscitation and deliveries (Preferred)

  • Experience with neonatal transport (Preferred)

  • Strong clinical judgment in high-acuity neonatal care

  • Ability to manage ventilated and critically ill neonates

  • Experience with family-centered care and education in NICU setting


Required Credentials
  • Active California RN License

  • BLS Certification (Required)

  • PALS Certification (Required)

  • NRP Certification (Required)


Preferred Credentials
  • RNC Certification

  • CCRN Certification (Neonatal)

  • Neonatal transport experience


Setting
  • Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

  • Acute care hospital environment

  • Cross-training/float to Pediatrics may be required


Floating Requirement
  • May float to Pediatrics unit as needed
