We are looking for a detail-focused Data Entry Clerk to support a healthcare organization in Norfolk, Virginia. This Contract position is well suited to someone who works accurately in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining reliable records. The person in this role will handle high-volume information entry, verify data for completeness, and help ensure administrative information is current and organized.
Responsibilities:
• Enter patient, administrative, and operational information into computer systems with a high degree of accuracy
• Review source documents carefully to confirm information is complete, consistent, and correctly formatted before submission
• Update existing records and make corrections promptly when discrepancies or missing details are identified
• Maintain organized electronic files and support efficient record retrieval for internal teams
• Perform numeric data entry tasks while meeting productivity expectations and quality standards
• Use typing and computer data entry skills to process large volumes of information in a timely manner
• Follow healthcare privacy and confidentiality standards when handling sensitive information
• Assist with data cleanup activities, including correcting duplicate, outdated, or incomplete entries• At least 2 years of experience in data entry or a closely related administrative role
• Strong keyboarding and typing ability with consistent accuracy
• Demonstrated experience entering numeric and text-based information into computer systems
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors quickly
• Comfort working with routine processes while managing a steady workload
• Basic computer proficiency and confidence navigating data entry platforms
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive healthcare information
