Basic Job Functions:

The D365 Finance/Accounting Senior Business Analyst plays a crucial role in our company, being the primary liaison between Finance/Accounting stakeholders and IT teams to support, enhance, and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) business processes. This role is responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing financial workflows, identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring successful delivery of system enhancements that align with business needs.

Ability to work or travel on an “as needed” basis, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to understand current processes, pain points, and future-state needs.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
  • Provide day-to-day functional support for D365 Finance modules, including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Budgeting, and Project Accounting.
  • Lead requirements workshops with finance stakeholders across multiple business units.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Recommend system improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Document process flows, configuration decisions, and system changes in a structured and clear manner.
  • Develop test scripts, coordinate UAT, and validate system updates and enhancements.
  • Assist with data validation, migration activities, and environment readiness for releases.
  • Propose and implement optimizations to improve system usability and user experience.
  • Manage a project’s scope, acceptance, installation, and deployment from start to finish.
  • Provide timely technical support to troubleshoot and address user-reported issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Report on technical issues and questions; make recommendations to IT supervisor and related users.
  • Perform quality assurance activities.
  • Configure D365 Finance modules according to approved requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field from an accredited university. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Minimum five (5) years as a Business Analyst, Subject Matter Expert, Solutions or Technical Architect, or Technical Consultant.
  • Experience reviewing business needs, researching potential solutions, and providing solid process and technical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical aspects to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of initiative and accountability for deliverables and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving proficiency.
  • Cost accounting and project accounting expertise preferred.
  • Experience with Treasury Automation, AP Automation, Fastpath, Power BI, and Financial Reporting preferred.
