Job description

We're looking for a Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of business and technology. Someone who can think like a Business Analyst, lead like a Product Owner, and communicate like a storyteller.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders, users, and Scrum teams to bring compelling product visions to life. You'll be responsible for writing clear, actionable user stories, managing a prioritized backlog, and ensuring that what gets built drives real value for our customers and our business.

This role requires being onsite, 3 days a week in Carmel, IN. This is a long term contract role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the product backlog: define, prioritize, and refine user stories in alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of features and functionality.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, engaging user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as a key point of contact during Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Continuously gather feedback and iterate on product features and user experiences.
  • Use storytelling to align teams around product vision, communicate challenges, and present solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand and document needs, workflows, and opportunities.
  • Monitor KPIs and work with analytics to validate outcomes and inform future development.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Solid experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Proven ability to write detailed, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong background in business analysis, including stakeholder interviews, workflow modeling, and requirements gathering.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - you know how to craft narratives that connect users, stakeholders, and developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and make data-informed product decisions.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in [industry-specific detail, e.g., fintech, healthcare, e-commerce].
  • Exposure to UX principles or design thinking practices.
  • Certification (e.g., CSPO, PMI-ACP, or CBAP).
