Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring STEMI experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac devices such as balloon pumps and Impella.

Details
  • Work in the Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab of a hospital setting
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, including left and right heart catheterizations
  • Utilize Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • On-call requirement for evenings and weekends
  • Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
Requirements
  • Active FL or compact RN license required
  • Current AHA or American Red Cross ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 18 months of recent RN experience in Cath Lab, preferably within the last 3 years; 2 years preferred
  • STEMI experience required
  • Proficiency with balloon pump, Impella, atherectomy devices, cardiac medication drips, and emergency medications required
  • One professional reference from a direct supervisor, ANM, or director in the applicable specialty required
  • COVID-19 vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions only
  • Flu vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions only
Additional Information
  • Time-sensitive orientation modules must be completed promptly once the assignment is confirmed
  • EKG and pharmacology testing required during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts per test and no remediation offered
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed during the interview process
  • Travelers are expected to work every other holiday
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Facility maintains a strict no call-in policy
  • Facility is a smoke-free environment
  • Former permanent or per diem employees must wait 1 year from their previous end date before returning to this health system
