Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Columbia, South Carolina.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg/Tele (Ortho)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med/Surg Telemetry with Orthopedic experience. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care for patients on an orthopedic spine unit, focusing on spinal surgeries and associated medical conditions.

Shifts and Scheduling
  • Shift Hours: Night shift - 4x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend with a total of 6 weekend shifts required
  • Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Charting and Documentation
  • Experience with EPIC charting is required (1 year)
Qualifications
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred
  • Active South Carolina or multistate nursing license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Must have prior experience in Orthopedics
Unit Details
  • Ratios: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
  • Unit specializes in adult orthopedic spine surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
  • Patient diagnoses include Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac conditions, low-risk acute coronary syndrome, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and others
  • Special procedures performed: bedside lumbar puncture, post-catheterization care, renal biopsy, CT Angiography, and Heparin drips
  • Floating required to other units or campuses as needed; limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies
