This is not a law enforcement or forensic evidence collection position. This role focuses on cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, and restoring affected areas after proper authorization has been provided.

Key Responsibilities

The Crime Scene Technician will:

  • Clean, disinfect, deodorize, and restore affected areas after incidents involving blood, bodily fluids, decomposition, hazardous waste, or other contamination.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment, including gloves, respirators, protective suits, eye protection, and other required safety gear.
  • Follow OSHA, bloodborne pathogen, and hazardous material handling guidelines.
  • Safely remove and package contaminated materials for proper disposal.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, disinfecting tools, foggers, sprayers, ozone machines, extractors, and other remediation equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with families, property owners, management companies, and public agencies.

  • Follow supervisor instructions and comply with all company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work in confined or challenging spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, if required by contract or client.
  • Must be willing to work on-call, nights, weekends, or emergency response shifts as needed.
Preferred Certifications

The following certifications are preferred but not required:
