Job Summary/Description:  

KGNS+ is looking for a dynamic bilingual producer/multimedia journalist to join our newsroom. The ideal candidate will produce our Spanish weekend evening newscasts and report three days per week.

The ideal candidate must be an excellent writer for all multi-platform content in Spanish. A creative, aggressive producer who can tell impactful stories and enhance our award-winning team's enterprise content. Someone with a sense of service who wants to tell stories in a highly ethical journalistic environment and have a great time doing a tough job. The ideal candidate will produce our Spanish weekend evening newscasts and reports as a multimedia journalist three days per week.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

* Works with weekend crew, news director, and assignment desk to plan weekend newscasts
* Produces weekend Spanish newscast, and if needed, will act as a fill-in when needed.
* Generate engaging enterprise content for on-air and online reports
* Report live in the field and in studio as a multimedia journalist
* Plan, schedule, shoot, write, edit, and present news content on-air and on digital platforms
* Produce and booth newscasts
* Availability to work weekends and some holidays
* You will report to and work closely with the News Director, Assistant News Director, and Executive Producer in shaping and ensuring the execution of our content on all platforms (website, social media, our news and weather apps, OTT, and television).
* Must have strong Spanish writing, storytelling, and reporting skills

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Fluent in Spanish
* Completion of high school, or equivalent.
* College degree preferred.
* Two years of related news experience.
* Must have strong Spanish writing, storytelling, and reporting skills
* Must have strong producing skills (create a newscast rundown, write stories, build graphics, and coordinate with control room and field crews)
* Must possess good organizational and time management skills
* Excellent live reporting skills required, ability to ad-lib during breaking news
* Must be willing to work longer hours and different days as needed
* Ability to carry, shoot, and edit video with digital cameras
