JOB DESCRIPTION

Manager of Football Creative

Position Classification: Salaried



Duties and Responsibilities


  • Oversees and leads the football team in all creative media initiatives to include graphic design, creative video, and photography as they relate to social media and recruiting
  • Works autonomously to ensure projects are completed on time and identifies new projects to further the Air Force football brand
  • Responsible for all football recruiting creative efforts to include planning, creation, and distribution to appropriate parties
  • Serves as the principal football creative for projects from conception through production; research, strategizes, conceptualizes, proposes, and designs creative projects for electronic, print, web, and interactive media
  • Oversee a football creative team comprised of cadet-managers and interns/volunteers to include but not limited to recruitment, training, and mentoring
  • Produce compelling video content for digital and social outlets from ideation to finished product including scripting, shooting, editing and graphic design
  • Shoot photo and video of home games, practice sessions, locker room interviews, player and community outreach features, and other projects as needed
  • Maintains strong understanding of industry trends and adjusts accordingly with AF branding.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with professional organizations, administrators, coaches, and staff
  • At the direction of the marketing & creative department vision, applies brand guideline specifications and ensures consistency on quality during design and production
  • Understands and adheres to a variety of department and Academy brand standards, NCAA and MWC compliance policies
  • Reports directly to the Director of Digital Media with a dotted line to the Director of Recruiting with collaboration in mind.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience working in college or professional athletics is highly desired
  • Demonstrated professional experience with the Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Strong skills in graphic design are required
  • Graphic design and creative video skills are preferred
  • Proven storytelling ability using design and video
  • Experience with ENG style and/or DSLR filming and editing
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated passion for football and understanding of the game
  • Ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Ability to work an irregular schedule including, evenings, weekends, holidays and travel as required by the team’s schedule
  • Successful experience in creating and implementing digital communications in support of recruiting efforts in collegiate athletics is preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check
