Job description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – School-Based

Location: Oak Lawn, IL (Chicago Area)
School Year: 2026–2027
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Contract Length: 39 weeks

A cooperative school program in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for a school-based position supporting students from early childhood through 12th grade. The BCBA will work across the program based on referrals and student needs, with a strong emphasis on social, emotional, and behavioral supports. Many students are on the autism spectrum, though severe behaviors are not a focus of this program.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with a well-established support team, including nine social workers, and to contribute to program development through leadership and creative problem-solving.

Position Details
  • Schedule: Weekdays
  • Hours: 33.75 hours per week
  • Contract Length: 39 weeks
  • Start Date: August 17, 2026
  • Setting: In-person, school-based
  • Student Population: Early Childhood–12th grade
  • Openings Available: 1
  • Interview Process:
    • First round virtual interview
    • Second round in-person interview and program tour
Responsibilities
  • Conduct behavioral evaluations, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
  • Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Provide consultation, training, and support to school staff
  • Observe, assess, and supervise educational and behavioral service delivery
  • Collaborate with social workers, educators, and administrators
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Participate in committees related to behavior programming and program development
  • Provide leadership and creative problem-solving across the school program
Requirements
  • Active BCBA certification through the BACB
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • School-based behavior analytic experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Mental health experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Compensation
  • $73 per hour (local)
  • W-2 employment through Amergis
