Responsibilities
  • Operate an assigned commercial motor vehicle (straight truck or semi tractor/trailer) to deliver non-hazardous materials to customer sites along established routes and schedules
  • Drive safely and comply with DOT regulations, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries and maintain positive customer interactions
  • Load and unload product as required, including connecting and disconnecting trailers for product transfer, and follow safety protocols for handling commodity materials
  • Complete required delivery documentation accurately, including daily load/unload reports and electronic logs or onboard computer entries
  • Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, submit maintenance reports, and promptly communicate identified issues
  • Perform other assigned duties, including equipment hookups and site readiness checks
  • Participate in training and skill development to build knowledge of routes, equipment operation, and safety practices

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Entry-level to early-career commercial driving role; prior experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class A
  • Must meet age requirement
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately.

Additional Qualifications
  • Prior commercial driving experience (including experience operating a straight truck or tractor/trailer)
  • Demonstrated safe-driving performance and ability to make sound safety decisions in changing weather and road conditions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings, which may include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
