As our Project Superintendent, you'll lead field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and with exceptional quality. Every day, we'll count on you to oversee schedules, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. You'll work closely with the Project Manager to align resources, resolve challenges, and keep the project moving forward. In this key role, you will be an ambassador for Jackson Construction fostering relationships with Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors, while leading and mentoring team members, and addressing challenges proactively. This position will work on-site at in Longview, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
  • Enforce the company's Safety & Health program and maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and City regulations.
  • Proactively identify risks and lead initiatives to achieve a zero-incident jobsite.

Schedule Management
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and subcontractors to meet deadlines using Critical Path Method (CPM) sequencing.

Quality Assurance
  • Oversee quality control to ensure materials and workmanship meet or exceed project specifications.
  • Promptly address non-compliant work and maintain proper documentation.

Team Collaboration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners, Architects, Subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Facilitate subcontractor meetings, preconstruction planning sessions, and Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings to ensure alignment.

Resource and Cost Management
  • Manage equipment, tools, and resources to meet project needs.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to monitor budgets, control costs, and evaluate staffing requirements.
  • Ensure timely maintenance and accurate inventory of tools and equipment.

Operational Excellence
  • Maintain an organized and efficient job site that supports safety and schedule compliance.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize timelines, enhance team performance, and deliver projects within budget.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Use Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools (Phoenix Project Manager or MS Project) to track daily activities, document progress, and communicate updates.
  • Ensure accurate payroll, budget tracking, and project cost reporting.

Project Closeout
  • Lead the closeout process, including punch list completion and final documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure all deliverables meet client expectations and company standards.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field is a plus.
  • Experience overseeing full life cycle, commercial construction projects, with proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. Residential experience will not be applicable for this role.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects ranging from $30-50M his desired; residential construction experience will not apply
  • K-12 construction experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, construction methods, and quality control practices.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and project management tools (Phoenix Project Manager, P6, MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and foster a collaborative, safety-first culture.
