Job description

Overview

The Resource RN remains in good standing with Huntsville Hospital in accordance to set standards of maintaining an overall above average score on annual evaluations. Ability to teach and instruct as well as actively performs scrub techniques appropriate for various procedures. Monitoring skills require multi level documentation, recognition, interpretation with knowledge to treat patient accordingly. Proficient in operation and troubleshooting computer. Supports team members before, during, and following procedures to assure optimal patient care. Serves as a resource to staff regarding hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists the department manager with clinical and supervisory aspects of the department as well as with annual competencies including but not limited to: 12 lead class and basic EKG class. Meets deadlines in collecting and reporting data. Registry may define responsibilities that are specific to each registry, but does not limit activities under direct physician supervision.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma/GED. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License, certification and/or registration:  Current Alabama nursing license.  BCLS and ACLS previously obtained and currently maintained.

Experience: Minimum of five years critical experience and extensive computer skills, proven teaching/training skills, and team leadership skills required.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to adapt to a fast paced dynamic work environment related to changing daily work schedules, working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease.  Ability to learn techniques quickly and accurately.
