Job description

Position Overview

Limited‑Term Instructor of Computer Science and Engineering

Department: Computer Science & Engineering
College: Perimeter College
Campus: College‑wide
Position Type: Full Time Faculty (Temporary)
Posting Type: Internal/External

Responsibilities
  • Teach a minimum of 18 credit hours of engineering courses each semester.
  • Maintain at least 8 office hours per week.
  • Collaborate professionally with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Connect students with institutional resources to promote student success and progression.
Compensation
  • $26,675 per semester (Fall, Spring) for holders of a Master’s degree.
  • $29,250 per semester (Fall, Spring) for holders of a Doctoral degree.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in any engineering discipline (completed by date of appointment).
  • Or a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter graduate credit hours in engineering coursework (completed by date of appointment).
  • Experience teaching high‑school or collegiate engineering courses as a graduate teaching assistant or primary instructor, or at least two years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching a variety of undergraduate college‑level engineering courses.
  • Experience engaging with and teaching a diverse student population at an open‑access institution.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to teach engineering courses at the collegiate level.
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of instructional methods.
  • Ability to relate to and facilitate learning for a diverse student population.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology.
Work Hours

Position may require non‑standard hours, including day, evening, online, hybrid, weekend, or other campus locations.
