Responsibilities

2nd Shift - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Monday through Friday

Starting pay $28.59/hr

Pay Grade - HR150

Now Hiring at the MSA Safety Cranberry Township, PA manufacturing plant for an SMT Technician.  The responsibilities of this position are primarily to:

  • Assemble printed circuit boards by setting-up and operating SMT and/or Conformal Coating machines.
  • Perform manual inspection of the boards to ensure that they are within specification. 
  • Program SMT and/or Conformal Coating Machines using CAD software. Programming also requires knowledge of machine functions in relation to board layout and flow of material.
  • Troubleshoot and debug errors within programs and machines.
  • Run prototype boards/programs for engineering (red folder) jobs.
  • Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input information in computer system.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in soldering
  • Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness
  • Ability to:
    • program SMT and/or Conformal Coating machines using CAD software.
    • read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
    • perform standard software operations including Excel and SAP.
    • identify various electronic components.
    • infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds without assistance.
    • regularly perform work that requires magnification.
    • to concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
    • stand for prolonged periods of time, frequently in a stationary position.
    • work in a team environment and effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates.
    • work independently with minimal supervision.
    • prioritize and organize work.
    • wear ANSI Z87 approved safety glasses and other PPE as  required per Job Safety Analysis.
    • Willingness to work on various product groups and work flexible shifts.
    • Individuals with pacemakers may be prohibited from working in specific areas due to the operation of UV ovens.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12 months previous electronics manufacturing or other related experience.

Experience Preferred:

  • Computer Programming training.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience working in the Boardroom assembling PCBs.
  • Previous experience with fluidics and robotics.
