JobSummary
ForkliftOperatorssupportthe shippingdepartmentwiththemovementofmaterialsandproducts,including taking part in warehouse organizing and finished goods inspection, taking product off the productionlineand putting it away in designated locations in the warehouse, loading and unloading customer trucks.
Standard work week40 hoursa week with occasional overtime, no travelrequired.
DutiesandResponsibilities:
- Performpre-shiftforkliftinspectionsonforklift.
- Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, productionoutputandotherkeymetrics,performingmathematicalcalculationsasneeded.
- Safelyoperateapropanesit-downforklifttomoverawmaterialsorfinishedproductsthroughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materialsproperly stored.
- Visuallyinspectmaterialforqualitydefects;Segregatedefectiveproductandnotifysupervisor.
- Filldumpstersfromproductionfloor;Housekeepingofplant(insideandout).
- Workasateamwithproductionandshippingteamtofollowallfacility StandardWorks/processes andimprove operations.
- Supporttherecyclingarea,whenneeded,andhelptokeepitorganized.
- Fillinonotherareasoftheplant(e.g.,MachineOperator)asrequired.
- AssistsforkliftoperatorIIasneeded.
RequiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Highlymotivatedwithagood,soundworkethic.
- Priorexperienceoperatingapropanesit-downforkliftorothermobileequipment(Powered Industrial Trucks).
- Mustdemonstratesafeworkingpracticesandpossessgreatattentiontodetail.
- AbilitytofollowCWT'spolicies,procedures,andprocesses.
- Goodcommunication,organization,andtimemanagementskills.
- Basiccomputer,mathematics,andproblem-solvingskills;abilitytouseacalculator.
- Abilitytousemeasuringdevices(gauges,tapes,rulers).
- Teamplayerabletofollowinstructionsfrombothmanagementandpeers.
- Abilitytolearnandoperatenewequipment.
EducationandExperience:
- HighSchoolDiplomaorGEDisPreferred
- Mustbeatleast18yearsofageorolder.
- Priorexperienceinamanufacturingsettingpreferred.
WorkingConditions:
- Fastpacedmanufacturingenvironmentwhereworkersareexposedtobothambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts andpinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
- Hoursworked:8-10hours/shift,variesonshiftscheduleandbusinessvolume.
