Job description

About this Job The Executive Director of Auxiliary Services (EDAS) directs and leads the day-to-day operations of assigned auxiliary services including campus dining & food services, catering, coffee shop, vending, bookstore, mailroom, Pilot Card and student residential housing. Provides leadership in strategic planning, policy statements, departmental operations, customer service, employee management, and training and development. In addition, the position ensures fiscal integrity and compliance of Auxiliary Services operations and manages internal and external relationships.

Leads efforts to improve the suitability, sustainability and quality of auxiliary services. May also be required to manage special projects for the university. As a senior leader on campus the EDAS is expected to work closely with the F&A leadership team and serve stake holders needs across the university.

This is a full-time, salaried/exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend hours required, reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. This summary is not intended to be a comprehensive or all-inclusive description of duties and responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Five years of professional level experience relatable to the position with specific accomplishments that demonstrate an ability to succeed in this position. ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification (can be obtained within 6 months) Effective professional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Must be a hard-working, creative, and team-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Catering or food service experience with medium to large group sizes.

Physical and Environmental Demands Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are more than those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Collaborate with leaders across campus looking for ways in which auxiliary services can improve partnerships to the betterment and the benefit of our faculty, staff and especially our students. Ability to successfully lead and facilitate multiple projects and support opportunities that connect team members and stakeholders to achieve campus plans and meet project goals and timelines. Supervise and mentor auxiliary services managers and related staff to ensure operational engagement and professional growth.

Knowledgeable of food safety compliance standards including FDA codes, health department inspections, nutritional standards, sanitation regulations while also maintaining high-quality standards and safety compliance. Prepares and oversees all auxiliary services budgets and ensures effective resource management and staffing levels. Prepares regular reports summarizing the financial and operational performance of all assigned areas of operations.

Resolves customer, guest, and vendor concerns maintaining positive client relationships. Other duties, including special projects, as assigned. How to Apply: No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
