Job description

Description

The Barista is responsible for taking guest orders and preparing beverages and food items in an efficient manner, according to brand standards. The Barista will prepare high quality coffee and products while providing an exceptional guest experience. 


*Summer Incentive Program: You will have the opportunity to earn an additional $1.50/hour, on top of your base pay, for every worked during the period of Memorial Day-Labor Day by performing at a high level! Bonus will be paid out at the end of summer based on punctuality/availability, job performance, and active employment through Labor Day!* 


Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures that each guest receives excellent service by providing a warm greeting. 
  • Operate espresso machine and other brew equipment with care. 
  • Ensure that coffee shop is operational and set-up for the day's business. Report any inoperable equipment immediately to Manager on Duty to minimize service disruption. 
  • Prepares food and beverage items according to recipes. 
  • Receive and process payments (cash and credit card). 
  • Maintains coffee shop's cleanliness throughout shift. 
  • Stock condiment bar with appropriate supplies. 
  • Communicate any guest issues or questions to management immediately. 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Basic math skills associated with cashiering. 
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task, working on several orders at a time. 
  • Ability to remain calm and personable in fast-paced environment. 

Education and Experience: 

  •  Previous barista/hospitality experience, preferred. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand on feet for duration of shift. 
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 lbs and up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
