Position Overview


As a Coding Teacher at Genie Academy, you will leverage our in-house curriculum and IDE to guide K-12 students through pre-developed, fun, and interactive lessons. You'll deliver classes in Scratch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python, ensuring that each student progresses effectively within our proven teaching framework.


Key Responsibilities

Deliver Genie Academy's Proprietary Curriculum

  • Teach classes using our pre-developed projects and lesson plans via our in-house IDE.
  • Adapt instruction to varying age groups and skill levels while following curriculum standards.

Foster an Engaging Classroom Environment

  • Facilitate coding lessons and discussions, encouraging curiosity and teamwork.
  • Maintain a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that fosters creativity and confidence.

Assess and Track Student Progress

  • Use our IDE's tools to monitor student performance on assigned projects.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress updates to students and parents/guardians.

Contribute to Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate classroom insights to help refine the curriculum and IDE features.
  • Stay updated on industry trends in coding and educational best practices.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or current enrollment) in Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching or tutoring experience (in-person or online) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in any coding Language and ability to quickly master Scratch, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent communication skills to simplify complex coding concepts.
  • Ability to follow and effectively deliver a structured, pre-developed curriculum.
  • Passion for working with students and helping them achieve success.
  • Familiarity with topgrading principles (continuous improvement and transparent performance metrics) is an advantage.
