CNC Technician – Job Description

The CNC Technician supports CNC operations by assisting the CNC Manufacturing Engineer with daily machine activities, troubleshooting, process improvements, and operator training. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality CNC production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and develop countermeasures for safety-related issues
  • Assist with daily troubleshooting of CNC parts, equipment, and processes
  • Document and communicate activities across the organization
  • Support process validation and tool tryouts
  • Program, interface, and troubleshoot bar feeders
  • Edit CNC programs (G-code)
  • Perform CNC setup, changeovers, and tool changes
  • Maintain and update CNC documentation
  • Train operators as needed
  • Assist with customer rejection investigations and countermeasures
  • Support 5S activities
  • Perform start-up and shut-down procedures
  • Complete assigned Maintenance PMs and Operator PMs
  • Serve as back-up crane operator
  • Work in both office and manufacturing environments with exposure to mechanical equipment and moderate noise
Requirements:

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC experience, including setup and troubleshooting
  • Actively pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering Technology

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Understanding of CNC equipment performance, uptime, scrap, and efficiency
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage schedules and timelines
