Job Title: Surgical Technologist/Technician
 
Specialty: Operating Room – Surgical Technology
 
Place of Work (City/State): Bethesda, MD
 
Site: NIH Clinical Center
 
Location: 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892
 
Duration: 13-week contract
 
Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; Intermittent on-call (evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed)
 
How many shifts needed per month: Intermittent on-call 14–17 times a month, in addition to regular scheduled shifts
 
Credentialing/Onboarding time: 6–8 weeks
 
License: Any state license works (Certified Surgical Technologist)
 
Certifications: Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
 
Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
 
Experience needed: 2–3 years of current acute care hospital Operating Room experience
 
Special Skills needed: Proficiency in both scrub and circulating roles in the OR
 
Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain sterile field for surgical procedures; pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations; assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping; maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies throughout procedures.
