Reports To: Cleaning and Prep Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview

The Cleaning Technician is responsible for preparing welded assemblies for final finishing processes such as powder coating or polishing. This role involves cleaning and polishing welds, performing quality checks to identify missing or incorrect welds, and assisting with final assembly details as needed. The Cleaning Technician works closely with the fabrication team to support efficient production while safely operating cleaning equipment and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean welds on new welded assemblies to prepare them for further finishing processes, such as powder coating or polishing.
  • Perform quality control checks while cleaning weldments toidentifyany missing or incorrect welds, ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Polish welds to achieve a shiny aluminum finish as needed for specific assembly requirements.
  • Assistin putting thefinishing toucheson new assemblies, which may involve attaching casters or applying Velcro.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and cleanliness guidelines.
  • Follow established cleaning and quality control procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency of the fabrication process.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication team to ensure seamless workflow andefficientassembly.
  • Safelyoperatecleaning and finishing equipment and tools.
  • Keep records of completed work, inspections, and any identified issues or discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Previousexperience in cleaning and quality control in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is beneficial.

Working Conditions

This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Shift schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on business needs.
