Material Handler / Forklift Operator - Production
Location: Duncan, SC
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Job Summary
$19-$21/hr
A shift: 6a-6p
B shift 6p-6a
Weekend shift differential
Overtime as needed
The Material Handler supports production and warehouse operations by safely moving, staging, and delivering parts, raw materials, and finished goods using Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). This role is critical to maintaining material flow, meeting production timelines, and supporting quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate PIT equipment including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and tuggers
  • Deliver raw materials and parts to production lines
  • Transport finished and packaged goods from production to the warehouse
  • Stage materials correctly with proper labeling
  • Read and verify labels for part numbers, quantities, and descriptions
  • Identify material shortages and communicate issues to supervisors or team leads
  • Receive, sort, and distribute materials as instructed
  • Ensure materials and finished goods are not damaged during transport
  • Route damaged materials through required quality inspections
  • Perform PIT inspections and follow all safety procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas using 6S principles
  • Communicate material flow issues, safety concerns, or delays
  • Work collaboratively with team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Less than 1 year of manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
  • Forklift/PIT experience preferred (or ability to become certified)
  • Ability to read labels and follow written instructions
  • Basic communication skills in English
