Job description

CDL Bucket/Box Truck Driver

Highlights Electrical is seeking an experienced, safety-conscious CDL Bucket/Box Truck Driver to join our Houston-area field operations.

This is not a traditional delivery or over-the-road driving position. Our drivers are part of the field crew and assist with lighting, electrical, signage, and maintenance projects throughout the Houston area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and maneuver bucket trucks, box trucks, and other commercial vehicles to and from job sites
  • Transport crews, equipment, tools, and materials
  • Assist field crews with lighting, light pole, signage, and electrical maintenance and installation
  • Operate or assist with bucket/aerial equipment to access elevated work areas
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Secure tools, materials, and equipment for transportation
  • Follow all DOT requirements and company safety procedures
  • Assist with hand and power tools and general jobsite activities
  • Maintain required driver logs, inspection records, and other documentation
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights when required

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Experience driving and maneuvering commercial trucks and/or bucket trucks
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements and safe commercial vehicle operation
  • Comfortable working outdoors and around construction and electrical work
  • Able and willing to perform hands-on field work in addition to driving
  • Ability to safely lift and handle 50+ lbs.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work overtime when required

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:

  • Bucket truck or aerial lift operation
  • Commercial or roadway lighting
  • Utility work
  • Traffic signals
  • Telecommunications
  • Sign installation/service
  • Electrical construction or maintenance
  • Tree service or other industries involving bucket/aerial equipment

Electrical experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
