Job description

We are actively seeking a qualified, board-certified Hematology-Oncology Physician for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in a well-regarded outpatient community cancer center near Frankfort, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant setting with an established patient base, focused on outpatient care without on-call or weekend requirements.

Position Details:
  • Position Type: Locum Tenens (Potential Locum-to-Perm Opportunity)
  • Location: Outpatient Cancer Center near Frankfort, IL
  • Specialty: Hematology-Oncology
  • Shift Type: Daytime hours, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM
  • Patient Population: Adults only, with a focus on both hematology (30%) and oncology (70%)
  • On-Site Services: Hematology-Oncology focused; no Radiation Oncology onsite, though connected with a radiation oncology team at a nearby university-affiliated medical center
  • Support Staff: Solo physician practice with no Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in the clinic
  • Patient Volume: Average of 16-20 patients per day
  • EMR System: Epic
Candidate Requirements:
  • Licensure: Active Illinois medical license required at time of name clear
  • Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology-Oncology
  • Experience: Prior locum tenens experience preferred; must have experience in outpatient cancer care
  • Language Skills: Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred to better serve the patient community
  • DEA: Active DEA registration with verbal confirmation upon credentialing
  • Local Candidates: Local candidates are highly preferred, as travel reimbursement is not available; mileage must be included in submission if applicable
Compensation:
  • Rate: Competitive hourly rates; please submit your best rate for consideration
  • Conversion Fee Cap: cap on any potential conversion fees

  • Start Date: ASAP, with credentialing estimated at approximately 3 months
