Job description

Position Summary

Camp Counselors are responsible for supervising, mentoring, and engaging a designated group of campers throughout the camp day. Counselors ensure camper safety, foster positive peer relationships, and help create a structured, supportive, and energetic camp environment.

Selected staff may serve as Activity Specialists, leading designated specialty programming within their area of expertise.


Primary Responsibilities

Camper Supervision & Engagement

Supervise and actively engage a consistent group of campers throughout the day.

Ensure campers are safe, included, and participating appropriately in all activities.

Facilitate smooth transitions between scheduled activities.

Promote a positive, respectful, and bullying-free environment.

Activity Leadership (Specialist Role)

Plan and lead specialty sessions in Art, STEM, Music, Dance, or Ultimate Games (if assigned).

Provide structured, engaging, and age-appropriate programming.

Collaborate with the Assistant Director to align specialty activities with overall camp goals.


Team Collaboration

Work cooperatively with fellow counselors and leadership staff.

Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development as required.

Maintain open communication with supervisors regarding camper needs or concerns.


Qualifications & Expectations

Demonstrated interest in working with children in a camp, school, or youth setting.

Ability to maintain enthusiasm, patience, and professionalism throughout the camp day.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

For Activity Specialists: experience or demonstrated ability in Art, STEM, Music, Dance, or Athletics preferred.

Commitment to full-season participation to qualify for completion bonus.


Compensation: $800 per week

Full-Summer Completion Bonus: $250 (awarded upon successful completion of the full camp season)
