Job description

Position Overview:

The Corporate Communications Intern is responsible for supporting the work of the Executive Vice President, Chief Strategic and Corporate Communications Officer, and the communications team in telling the story of MSE to internal and external audiences, which the department drives in coordination with the marketing and communications teams across all MSE owned and operated brands.

Responsibilities:
  • Compile daily press clips.
  • Maintain departmental tracking grids (Editorial Calendar, Upcoming Conferences/Awards).
  • Use media tracking software to monitor and measure earned media activities and compile reports.
  • Assist in research and drafting for press releases, advisories, award submissions, executive briefs, and more.
  • Organize and manage files within the shared department drive.
  • Provide support for games, concerts, and live events at Capital One Arena, EagleBank Arena, and community initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Related internship(s) in public relations, journalism, communications, or sports management.
  • Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to produce professional-caliber written content.
  • Demonstrated understanding of media relations and corporate communications.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and complete in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills, organizational skills, critical thinking and general digital literacy.
  • Knowledge of sports business industry, current issues, and relevant topics.
  • Understanding of the overall branding and messaging goals of MSE.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay Rate: $18.40 USD/hour
