Position: Business Analyst – Capital Markets & Collateral Management
Locations: Irvine, CA (Hybrid) – 3 to 4 days Onsite
Duration: Long Term Contract
Rate $60/hr
 
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Capital Markets and Collateral Management to join our team supporting strategic initiatives for State Street. The ideal candidate will have experience gathering and documenting business requirements, collaborating with business and technology teams, and delivering solutions that enhance collateral management processes across front, middle, and back-office operations.
 
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Financial Services domain.
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets, including securities, derivatives, repo, and securities lending.
  • Hands-on experience with Collateral Management processes and lifecycle.
  • Experience working with margining, collateral optimization, exposure management, and settlement workflows.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, risk management, and post-trade operations.
  • Experience writing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, and process flows.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business users, product owners, and development teams to translate business needs into functional specifications.
  • Analyze current collateral management processes and recommend process improvements.
  • Support implementation of capital markets initiatives related to collateral optimization, margin processing, and regulatory reporting.
  • Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and process documentation.
  • Coordinate with QA teams during test planning, UAT execution, and production validation.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and data analysis to support project initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure solutions comply with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within scope and timelines.
  • Provide post-production support and assist with issue resolution during implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with financial institutions such as global investment banks.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to collateral management (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, Basel III, UMR).
  • Familiarity with collateral management platforms such as Acadia, Calypso, Murex, Broadridge, or similar systems.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and SQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
