Job Summary
Learning Associates/Tutors - English, Math, Computer Science and Biology/Chemistry/Physics
Part time/Seasonal/As needed for support of the Branch Campus and departments in the area
Please Note: Essex County College does not provide visa sponsorship of any kind. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and for the duration of employment.
Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20 per hour.
Supervisory Role
Duties & Responsibilities
• Familiar with Microsoft package
• Demonstrates knowledge of subject area to be covered
• Communicate with faculty and students about tutoring needs, subject matter information
• Inform the Dean of CCEWD & WEC of any issues
• Be of service to faculty as they provide instruction
• Web assign support
• Interact with Online support staff - for Moodle, WebAssign and other assignments that may require online
• Assist students with a positive attitude so they feel welcomed and part of the Essex CC community
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean or designee

Additional Requirements
• *Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science and/or Humanities, Math, Biology or any of the subjects that tutoring is needed
• Bi-lingual a plus
• Experience of working at a college
• Hrs - Not to exceed 24 weeks per week - minimum of 6 hrs
• Based on needs of department or area.
