Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and under direct supervision of the Charge Nurse on duty each shift. The RN works in collaboration with all other clinical care departments to provide safe high quality nursing care to patients as assigned. The RN utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics in order to perform procedures and tasks within their scope of practice.
The RN effectively utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs to assure age and developmentally appropriate nursing care for patient population served (infants, children, adolescents and young adults). The RN is responsible for providing and documenting nursing care, in accordance with developed care plan and physicians orders for each individual patient in a safe patient and family-centered process.

Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license as issued by the State of California
- Bachelors of Science degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (acute only)
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) (preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years of pediatric nursing experience in a subacute or acute care hospital preferred
- Documented completion of the hospitals preceptor program (40 hours) within two months of hire
- Three (3) or more years of previous experience pediatric and/or rehabilitation Nursing (preferred)
- Ability to prioritize accordingly and maintains a high level of organization
- Serves as a role model and provides positive influence to facilitate change when needed
- Values life-long learning and regularly participates in ongoing clinical training and education
- Competently recognizes and supports the needs of a culturally diverse workforce and patient population
- Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds without assistance
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times
- Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently
