Job description

At NorthBay Health the Physical Therapist works under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Supervisor and Rehabilitation Services Manager. The staff physical therapist, in accordance with his/her evaluation findings and the physician's referral, plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Provides outpatient physical therapy services during assigned shifts, including occasional weekend or holiday coverage as required.
  • Performs initial evaluations, periodic re-evaluations, and update treatment plans/goals in collaboration with physicians as appropriate.
  • Delivers evidence-based interventions tailored to the patient's diagnosis, learning needs, and age.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Educates patients and caregivers on therapy procedures, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and safe use of assistive or adaptive equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, families, and third-party payers regarding patient status and treatment progression.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to Physical Therapist I staff, Physical Therapy Assistants, and students.
  • Contributes to program development, quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, in-services, and professional development activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinic operations.

Hours of Work: Assigned shift during outpatient department operating hours; participation in occasional weekend or holiday coverage may be required.

Hourly Pay Range $69.68 - $88.08 (Hourly rate will be based on years of experience)

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.

Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Current California license in Physical Therapy is required. Current AHA or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and all other annual System/department requirements (e.g., TB, Safety, HIPAA, Infection Control).
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience required. Advanced certification can be substituted for experience.
  • Advanced competency in Physical Therapy musculoskeletal and neuromuscular evaluation and treatment techniques. Ability to manage a full outpatient caseload with independence.

PREFERRED:

  •  Prior outpatient experience strongly preferred.
