Job Title:
Behavioral Health Therapist
Direct Supervisor/ Reports To:
Director of Integrated Behavioral Health Services
Job Summary/Overview:
The Non-Clinical Behavioral Health Therapist supports individuals and groups in achieving mental wellness through education, coaching, and resource connection. This role focuses on prevention, advocacy, and behavioral health promotion rather than direct clinical diagnosis or treatment. The therapist collaborates with community organizations, schools, and employers to provide psychoeducational programming and support services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Facilitate group workshops and seminars on stress management, coping skills, and emotional wellness.
  • Provide individual coaching sessions to help clients set and achieve behavioral health goals.
  • Connect clients with appropriate community resources and support services.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials on behavioral health topics.
  • Maintain confidential documentation of services provided and referrals made.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement wellness initiatives.
  • Advocate for mental health awareness within the organization and community.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training relevant to behavioral health.
  • Main contact person for the Suicide Assessment Group

Minimal Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Experience providing behavioral health education or coaching in a non-clinical setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of local behavioral health resources and support systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations.

Work Environment
This position is located at the Halsted location but requires the flexibility to check in at other agency and community sites when necessary, including virtual environments. Regular daytime hours with occasional evening or weekend workshops may be required.
